At Christ Clinic our staff is made up of compassionate and dedicated individuals who are committed to serving our community with excellence. We have a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including nurses, medical assistants, and support staff, who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to their roles. We are grateful for their hard work and dedication, and are proud to have such a talented and caring team as part of our organization.

Lara Mautz
Executive Director

Lara Mautz is a registered nurse and the Executive Director of Christ Clinic. Lara joined the Christ Clinic team as the Clinic Manager in 2012 and transitioned to Executive Director in 2017. As Executive Director, Lara ensures Christ Clinic is highly adaptive to the needs of the community, the safety-net healthcare system, and to individuals that are sick with no other options.
Maria Alcantar
Director of Clinical Operations

Maria Alcantar is The Director of Clinical Operations. Maria started with Christ Clinic in 2007 as Medical Assistant and left 2014 to pursue her career in nursing. After completing her Bachelor’s in Nursing Degree she returned to the clinic in January 2022 as the Director of Clinical Operations. In her current role she is responsible for administrative oversight and assistance to the clinical care team, as well as overseeing the clinics daily operations, policies and procedures.
Janeth Castilleja
Director of Patient Resources

Janeth Castilleja is the Director of Patient Resources and oversees the Medication, education and other patient resources departments. Janeth and her team work closely with our patients to ensure they have access to the medication and education they may need in order to receive the best quality health care. Janeth has 10 plus years in the healthcare field and is delighted to have been a part of the Christ Clinic Team for 10 years. Janeth enjoys the opportunity to serve her community and give back to those who need us most. It is her passion to help others and bring smiles to our patient's faces.
Brenda Edwards
Director of Behavioral Health

Brenda Edwards is the Director of Behavioral Health and oversees our Behavioral Health Services. Brenda is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker -Supervisor (LCSW-S), with more than 12 years of experience in different settings including healthcare/behavioral health. She earned her master's degree in Social Work from the University of Houston. Brenda is passionate about helping others, being an advocate, and contributing to building and fostering healthier communities.
Veronica Longoria
Director of Customer Relations

Veronica Longoria has been with Christ Clinic for the last 4 years and has 25 years Customer Service Management experience. She oversees the Customer Service and Eligibility Departments and is passionate about her work and serving the community.
Sonya Jensen
Director of Advancement

Sonya Jensen is the Director of Advancement at Christ Clinic. She began as a volunteer and later became a staff member. She has a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Houston-Downtown. Sonya oversees fundraising, donor relations, and strategic initiatives to secure resources and support for Christ Clinic's growth and mission.
Michelle Shelton
Director of Mission Assets

Michelle Shelton is the Director of Mission Assets at Christ Clinic and oversees human resources and volunteers. She has been with Christ Clinic for 7 years and is enthusiastic in her efforts to make sure those who work for Christ Clinic can maintain a sense of balance between giving aid and not burning out.
